Personally I find StackOverflow to be good for personal development. We should all spend some time trying to debug code without a compiler now and then.

comment Wood versus plastic trail signs?
Great answer. I would only add that plastic would tend to be slightly more resistant to vandalism. Some place I go it seems like people can't pass a wood sign without carving at it.

comment How should I remove a tick?
It is true that it will not work on the tiny baby ticks (we call them seed ticks where I live). I will update for that. It does work on larger ticks. If it is sliding over, it sounds like they are using it backwards (or upside down).

comment Is there a Canadian equivalent to Forestry Rangers
In the States it is, yes. I'm showing my vast lack of knowledge of all things Canadian by saying that I don't know how it works up there at all.

Awesome, would love to see the answer when you find out :)

comment How do you stop blood-flow from a leech bite?
Not really answer worthy, but why not just carry clotting powder? It's a pretty good item for a first aid kit anyhow.

comment A fishing pole for lake and ocean fishing
Yep, a heavy spinning rod will suit for most situations. It is somewhat limiting in lakes, and somewhat limiting in surf.

Anyone know who we could ask? If this was the States, I'd call up the ranger station. It would be great if we could get an authoritative answer.

comment Rules for Carrying flammable subtances in UK
Starting fires with flammable liquids is not something I would want to do in the wilderness away from all possible safety personnel and equipment.
