Sounds to me like you did the best thing. I always encourage bailing out when in doubt. Wish more people did that.

Then please move it. I don't know how to do that.

The pace-related feelings that you described match mine pretty well. Thanks for those tips. I didn't know what they meant.

comment I'm a data geek and I want to buy a watch for running, what should I get?
Neat, thanks. I'm going to accept your answer, but I'd love to see more options as other reviews I've seen on this watch are not encouraging and it's a bit pricey for my budget :-)

Impressive review! But it seems the data has to be fed to a social-website that aggregates and graphs your data for you.

Yes, I ran with a watch quite often. But it's just a dump chronometer. Doesn't even do laps. I think it's time to upgrade :-)

I don't own a smartphone and I'm not planning to buy one any time soon. But even if I did, it would be a burden to carry while running. Do those smartphone apps give access to the data? The ones I've seen on my friend's phone don't.

Neat! Thanks again!

All the models I've seen are bite-type. The cap is only to protect the thing that put your mouth on and bite from bacteria and the environment in general.

Nice links. I'm looking for more personalized hikes like the ones you posted (not everyone can spend 50 days on a hike) but they're really hard to find for the Pyrenees. The Alps have a lot more articles. Weird.

I don't think I can do this while hiking (too heavy, can't have fresh food etc.), but thanks for the recipes.

WOW! Just wow! Thank you very much for taking the time to write all this. You gave me plenty of options around Prague with links to very good resources and I want to thank you again just for that. Now I can't wait to get there and hike!

Thanks, but all the links from the first site are broken. Including the 2nd and the 3rd that you posted.

It's an OpenBSD conference. Most of us from the group hike. So we try to tie the conferences to places we haven't hiked before or that we really enjoy hiking the 2nd time.

I think I'll be okay as I'll be attending a conference there before hiking. So I'll have 10 days to walk around and hunt for maps. But I'll keep that in mind, thanks.

Thank you for the info, didn't know about omni until now. A friend also recommended I plan with these online topographical maps and then buy the paper ones when I'm there. He said they're really easy to find locally. Now all I need is to decide on a hike.
