Where it texting emergency services isn't an option, you'll have to use my other suggestion of texting a 3rd party.

comment How can I contact emergency services via internet?
In some countries, text messages can be used to contact emergency services. In the UK, text messages can be used to call emergency services only after registering with the emergency SMS service. This service is primarily aimed at people who, by reason of disability, are unable to make a voice call. It has recently been promoted as a means for walkers and climbers to call emergency services from areas where a voice call is not possible due to low signal strength. (wiki)

comment Should you pop a blister?
There's 2 reasons why a popped blister is more likely to get infected. Let's say you have a 1/2" blister. If any dirt gets in it, that's 1/2" of raw, unprotected flesh, and whatever made the blister could also get the dirt in, especially if the skin covering the blister tears. With the above method, the only exposure is 1 tiny needle prick.

comment What precautions are needed for caving
Most cavers wear boots. Keep in mind that they may get completely soaked. Caves are hard on boots. Personally, I buy cheap ones ($25), which will last me about 10 trips before falling apart. Some cavers wear trekking shoes. While these have a good tread, they don't have ankle support. But they are easier to take on and off. I've even seen people using those barefoot shoes, claiming the extra flexibility helps then on the uneven surfaces.

The chin strap keeps the helmet on your head. I can almost guarantee that you will bang your head more than once and you don't want to knock it off. Plus, in a cave, and the crawling you may have to do, you may not be vertical.

A lot of times we don't have a cell signal at the cave entrance, and never inside a cave. That's why you tell someone else where you're going, and when you'll be back. It's their job to call for rescue. Have fun, and be safe.

Lastly, try to find a caving club. Don't know about India, but there's a lot of them in the U.S. & UK. In the U.S., the clubs are called grottos.

And a couple items to add. If you might get wet, wear wool or synthetic clothes. No cotton! Cotton gets cold when wet. Also, very important, tell someone exactly where you are going, what time you expect to be out, and want time they should call for rescue. For instance, if you think you'll be out by 4pm, and you give yourself 2 more hours just in case, then rescue should be called at 6pm.

As an experienced caver, I can say this is good advice. One thing I want to emphasize is using a head mounted light. This leaves both hands free for climbing and crawling.

The question was collapsible or fixed. I could have given a better answer with brands and styles I like, but I believe I did answer the question.

Just to add to the above advise. There may be quite a few groups out there that help with this. I belong to one in my area that's on the meetup website. Try googling to find one in your area.

comment Tips for a novice backpacker
Very good list. +1. Here's something I feel is important. Trekking poles. I know not everyone likes them, but they have saved me more times I can count while backpacking. You are top heavy and are more likely to trip and fall without the 2 extra "legs".
