comment How to safely carry a fixed-blade knife?
If we are talking legally, at least for Canada most all completely illegal knives are folders. knife legislation is based on gang stereotypes and and that means switchblades, butterfly, and other structurally similar knives (which can technically include things all the way up to Swiss army).

comment Canadian Law with respect to knifes
This is all I can find on knife laws in Canada. Unfortunately it is impossible to actually learn Canadian law in its entirety for the average citizen. You can read all the relevant laws yourself, and I did, but there is nothing in place to teach you how it is actually applied (90% of the actual entire law, is unwritten in my opinion).

comment Canadian Law with respect to knifes
Thanks guys, I thought legal had to be on topic, as knowing what you are legally allowed to own is pretty important. I see your point Rory, but then if we can get an comprehensive guide to knife law in Canada, it would be great if we could keep it altogether. I threw the last two paragraphs in as an aside, I am really looking for an indepth summery of knife law in Canada, and provided all these other details/questions just to make sure that any answer covered all the important areas for survival/hunting knife ownership and use, with respect to Canadian law.

comment Is it possible to improvise a knife sharpener in the wild?
And if you have a leather belt it can be used. Never really understood sharpening with leather myself though. Also another knife or metal object can work, but that is another thing I have never done myself or even understand exactly how you go about it.
