What is considered a water source, and why is it recommended to camp so far from them? On a lighter note, if you sleep walk, you might end up in a lake full of alligators. ;) |

Does whiskey help keep you warm in winter? Also, alcohol leads to dehydration. Hence having alcohol to warm yourself at higher altitudes can kill you. |

Winter Camping: How to warm up your boots in the morning? I second @berry120 Even I find putting on the shoes and running a few rounds better. Haven't faced any major discomfort with the same. |

Is it ever safe to let a hypothermic person sleep? @ChrisCarr Means the option you have is to stay awake till light. Warm fluids can help. Any sign of lack of response, or slowing down of response, lack of shivering, a temporary feeling of warmth even when the actual body temperature being low is a sign of sever hypothermia. The only solution is to find medical help ASAP. I repeat it again, NEVER sleep off. Sleeping only worsens a situation. |
