comment Can I eat rotten meat and carcass providing enough cooking?
"Initially, boil and change the water many times.", presumably "boil" means boil the meat in water but don't keep boiling very long each time. "Then cook the meat" means keep the meat boiling for a very long time.

comment How can I contact emergency services in the US via the internet?
Some countries have their own apps. Simply press the button and emergency services will rescue you. I don't know about US so I just add this as a comment, see alpify.com

On boggy ground they are useful for poking the ground to see how far the pole sinks in.

comment Will the benefit of an axe outweigh the drawbacks and win over a large knife?
It is also possible to use the adze of an ice axe if you are winter walking. I've seen this but it is hard work.

I saw someone using an axe to split short logs by swinging the axe with a log on the end against the ground. When it hit the ground the log span in the air and cracked his head.

There is no answer to your question. See this nws.noaa.gov/os/windchill, get the PDF brochure. The Wiki page is a bit technical wikipedia.org/wiki/Wind_chill

comment Trekking poles: Collapsed or fixed?
@Ben Crowell Above you say "there is no clear benefit at all", but in link say "reduces strain on joints", this could be a benefit.

comment What is the longest time you can go, eating only freeze-dried food?
Two weeks was for dehydrated food. This is not as good as freeze drying, it spoiled the vitamins and the shelf life was not as long.

They are adding Manua honey, raisins and gogi berries to stop rickets and cheese for vitamins and calcium and special oil high in Omega 3, not cooked, eaten with a warm meal

comment Use of gore-tex for a DIY Double-layer hammock
Why would you want the underside of a hammock to be breathable? Do you go inside like a bivvy bag?

Also storage between seasons: like most stuff when stored avoid dampness, keep cool and dry.
