An avid Hiker, Mountaineer, a rookie climber, amateur Mountain-Cyclist, experienced Hill-walker, used to be a trail-runner, an amateur in Star Gazing, used to play a lot of football, a die-hard soccer fan.

Learning to play Guitar (Rather, Playing to Learn) and play a lot of Harmonica, love playing Synthesizers.

Okay, +1: I agree with the point "For scuba diving this practice has no use. as you will be under water for a while and will be breathing compressed air from your cylinder" . Hadn't think of it.

@ShemSeger: Brilliantly said, "..despite evolution/adaptation, the effects of altitude are the same, some people's bodies are just better at dealing with the effects, and can last a bit longer at dangerously high altitude." Totally agree!

@ShemSeger: I added the Mountaineering tag. I thought it was necessary to have it there, since we are discussing effects of high altitudes in a mountaineer than someone who is born and brought-up and/or stay up at higher altitudes. Discussing about people who permanently reside at higher altitudes could open a whole new pandora box of thoughts and examples.
