I live and breath in Banff National Park in the Canadian rockies, where I hike, camp, ski (downhill, x-country, touring), snowshoe, scramble and play.

I've camped in the winter in -40c, I've travelled across glaciers and mountain passes both solo and in groups, I enjoy solo camping in the backcountry, and I spent seven years in the military.

My favourite moments are being in the middle of nowhere, with nobody around me, in the middle of the night under a sheet of stars, listening to nothing other than the ringing in my ears.

If you go the rental way, try calling Gear Up Sports gearupsport.com in Canmore, they don't mention it on their site but they rent mountaineering eqpt. Wish I could answer you but I don't know anything about mountaineering.

Doctors can prescribe up to 3,200mg a day, so 4x200mg means you've hit your daily dose in 16 hrs.

FYI, 1,200 mg is considered the maximum daily dose for over the counter use of Ibuprofen.

comment How do you punch out toes in ski-touring boots?
Is punching out always done with heat? I've got another pair of Solomon boots where the inner left ankle creates a pressure point by afternoon when I'm skiing all day. What other techniques are there?
