comment What are good designs for volunteer-buildable trail bridges?
I'd recommend making that thing a foot wider to allow for those that may be taking a stroller or wheelchair recreation through the trails. For 3' wide may want to consider 2x6 rather than 5/4x6 decking depending on how much adventure you feel the sagging would add.

comment Would a scope from an air gun work on a “real” gun?
I doubt the scope for the Hammerli will be set up to withstand the recoil coming from the .308 so there could be issues with keeping it sighted.

@Lagerbaer Are you saying overhand on a bend for drastically differently sized lines? I don't see that knot working in the scenario described so clarity helps.

Anything that gives you the runs should highly be avoided.

comment If I lose my compass, what is the easiest way to identify and follow a heading?
I'd rather carry a spare compass if I was that worried about breaking/misplacing my first. Fits easy into a pocket, stanleylondon.com/…

I assumed op was not referring to Climbing or Rappelling since there were no tags mentioning these. Perhaps WedaPashi could clarify this for us.
