@fgysin True, but a few comments: 1. We were cooking soup every day to rehydrate and keep ourselves warm, so we did carry a lot (1 liter per person if my memory serves me well) of fuel anyway. 2. You could not get any Couscous back in 2004 in Bolivia, and 3. In some areas cooking is done using local wood, without a stove.

@PaulPaulsen Sure, you should diversify your food consumption, but rice is a good basic ingredient.
