Dec 26	comment	Dome tents vs popup tents, are there any inherent pros or cons besides price and ease? I did collect a good few rocks, but maybe they were'nt big enough. I ended up copying the locals who fill discarded plastic bottles with sand, tie the guylines around the top, and bury the bottle in the sand.
Nov 17	comment	Outdoor activities in San Francisco when it's misty and raining? I think it's on topic for both. In theory we know locations better but they know the outdoors better. In reality there's surely more SE users in the USA and possibly in the Bay Area. Let's see how it goes and migrate it if it doesn't work here.

We did have strong wind and rain one night but I didn't the tent pegged in and I wasn't using the guy lines because I was lazy and the weather started great and it's hard to put standard pegs in dry sand at a beach. So yeah the roof came down and lots of water got in! Now it's (almost) properly pegged and tied with guy lines and has stood up to strong wind pretty well though I haven't had the full wind+rain combo again to test it fully.

Seems to be a British company, but the link is to a newer model with the same name as mine - at least the front door and window area is totally different. Aug 12	comment	Is it normal for a double skin popup tent to leak in slight rain? Yes I tried to eliminate sand on the outer walls and it might rain again tonight so I'll let you know how it goes. Now I do have several plastic bottles filled with sand around the inner floor edges instead though.

I would take a photo but because I just used knots and I'm at the beach they're all buried in the sand at the moment and it's too windy to dig one out for a photoshoot (-:
