What's the UPF of a T-Shirt or jeans? Can you expand your answer a little bit more? if link rot occurs, how useful will your answer be in the future? It could get converted to a comment. |

What are the key features to look for in mobile device apps for hiking/camping? Questions asking for mobile/computer programs to do software recommendations & such are off-topic, as per the current policy. Perhaps someone can raise this on Meta Great Outdoors if you/they feel this should be on topic. |

Which knot for climbing: figure eight, yosemite bowline, bowline on a bight? Yeah, +1. Figure eights, especially doubles, are easy to untie and very easy to check. Just look for an 8! |

What precautions should I take to protect myself and my camp from bears? @sixtyfootersdude: because they are of different sizes, and temperaments and think differently. One can climb trees, the other can't... |

What to bring into a tree stand? It's all good, I recently took a hunter safety course, and so we specifically talked about tree stands and guns, etc... so just wanted to make sure. Perhaps edit your post to ask more along the lines of what you should have in your tree stand with you, not necessarily what you would bring up in your pack? Cheers and happy hunting! :) |

What are some good ways to waterproof a geocache / letterbox? how is that practical? I may be asking a obvious/dumb question here, but how do you get things in and out of it? |
