comment What backwoods trick to get pure water produces the most safe water?
@OlinLathrop I edited the question. When using backwoods tricks of water collection it is generally safe. The question I referenced talks about how to purify it. So if this was about how to purify it, it would be a duplicate. Does that make it more clear for you?

comment Pack recommendations for running?
Well then go ask more questions or answer some others. Sometimes some people just like to wait for a second or third answer before they accept one. This person however just looks like they haven't logged in for a week. Give it a week more and they will probably accept it.

Is there more definition that you would like to add the the original question in hopes of a different answer? or is the current answer what you were looking for?

comment Pack recommendations for running?
A lot of times people come and ask and never return, or look at the answer and never come back. For example the asker of this question hasn't logged in here since the day he asked it. Usually I make a comment to the question up top asking for clarification on what they are looking for beyond the current answers. It is a polite way to say "Accept my answer already. geeze!"/"Pay attention to your question!" Sometimes people just want more than one recommendation or want a list, when S.E. might not be the place for that.

comment What should I do if caught in a sand storm?
In #4 I would also note that plenty of people have also been hit as another car decided to pull off the road and couldn't see them because their lights were off, so pull off as far as you safely can or make it to an exit.

Not near a large pool of water? No problem just use a small pool of water... you could do this in a pot of you really wanted, seams first.

comment Is it safe to eat poison ivy berries since I don't react to the leaves?
I still don't think I would. But I know Birds do. I have read that there is no irritant in them though so it does make some sense. Just fyi Cold won't kill poison. Welcome to The Great Outdoors S.E.

comment Does Moss only grow on the North side of trees?
So if there were a bunch of trees near a pool at the bottom of a waterfall, the moss would probably grow on the side of the tree facing the waterfall because of the moisture?

There is good information in this answer, but I would change it a bit to more directly answer the question. If you don't want to I would be happy to show you what I mean. Good start, and welcome to The Great Outdoors S.E.

I use soapy water as well, when I can't hear it. It also has the benefit of cleaning the area so the patch will adhere better. Good answer, and welcome to The Great Outdoors S.E.

This in no way answers your question, but also check the manufacturer, some patch holes for free.

This is great information but I was hoping for a more specific answer of "setup your baggies or trash bag like [this] and you will get the most water." I will edit my answer to be more clear on that.

comment Is buying an expensive sleeping bag better?
@ConradC For Backpacking? Yeah they're good. Good deal cost for performance wise? Honestly I doubt it. You usually want to use a bag within 5 degrees C of the typical temp. You can get liners to make it a bit warmer or fine tune it's warmth.

comment Are used climbing shoes safe?
athlete's foot from a pair of climbing shoes bought from a brick and mortar store? Wow that sucks. The couple of stores I have been to that sells them used does a pretty good job of cleaning them up.
