What hand and finger exercises help with climbing? I guess it got a downvote because you didn't answer the question. |

Does Fjällräven produce serious outdoors gear, or is it just trendy? I think this question can be salvaged. It should ask: "When shopping for outdoor clothing, how can I tell if something is suitable or is just intended to look trendy". (Since you're from Germany, stay away from Jack Wolfskin. That's my personal biased opinion :D ) |

How do I Eskimo roll a kayak? The first thing you should train is how to quickly and safely exit a capsized kayak. That sucks in a river, but is still better than drowning. |

Is bear spray effective against other animals? An important point is that bear spray has been tested on bears, but not on other animals. So while it will of course "work" on other animals in the sense that it'll hurt their eyes, there's no research yet on how they react. Maybe you'll only aggravate them even more? |

Is it warmer to sleep naked in a sleeping bag? The only people I've ever heard this from are people who've never been camping. |

If lost in the wilderness, what is the first thing I should do? I think in your second point (get busy making your camp) you should stress how important it is to stay put. Otherwise, you'll always be a step ahead of Search and Rescue. Countless stories of people being lost in the woods for days all revolve around the fact that they didn't stop moving... |

How should I check climbing equipment to tell whether it is still safe to use? "Couple of years" sounds too much for a rope if you want to lead on it, and on rope the damage over time doesn't really show. |

When sailing, how do I rescue a man overboard? Practice this a lot! Judging just when to point into the wind to stop at the MOB is really hard. |

How do I self arrest without an ice axe? For this reason, it should become clear that whenever you plan on bringing crampons, you must also bring an ice axe. If you don't wear crampons, try to kick your feet into the snow. |

What things should I look for when buying a compass? Also note that earth's magnetic field not only points north, but also, depending on where you are, slightly up or down. Get a compass that is made for the hemisphere (north/south) you intend it to use in, otherwise the needle might get stuck on the bottom/top of the compass |

How can I stay warm in subzero weather? @Different55 Fair enough. But if it's cold then you need good insulation from the ground. For extra warmth, you can put a foam pad under an inflatable thermarest. |

Can any waterborne pathogens survive boiling? There's one more caveat: While boiling kills most bacterias responsible for food-borne illnesses, boiling doesn't necessarily destroy their spores/toxins. One infamous example is botulism. |
