comment How to camp in wolf country?
Coyotes are also a lot smaller than wolves, and don't hunt in groups. An adult human would dominate a coyote.

@Aravona: and do you dehydrate while not getting thirsty?

comment How to stay hydrated with minimum water usage
@Aravona: that often repeated claim is really only true during very intense physical activity, or in very hot environments. For most situations, drinking when thirsty is a perfectly suitable system.

comment Is it true that, in cold conditions, you will freeze faster wearing wet clothes than not wearing any?
You can read this wiki article for more information on the physics behind it: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wet-bulb_temperature

comment How to check if a fence or cable has electricity without having special tools?
As others have mentioned, spitting on an electric fence will not result in it sizzling. Electric fences don't deliver enough power to do that. Furthermore, the whole "amps vs volts" thing for lethality is a huge, improperly simplified model. It's much more complicated than simply "amps kill".

comment Divers deliberately breathing fast before diving into water
It's a good way to drown. Don't do it. See en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shallow_water_blackout for the details on why it's a bad idea.

16 hours in a row is close to expected usage for many backpacking adventures.

comment Is a Canoe Bike a viable mode of human powered amphibious transportation?
Considering how few of these contraptions are constructed, anything we can offer is going to be pure speculation. I think you should email the creators of the linked images and ask them.

comment How to carry a bicycle in a canoe?
As far as the locks are concerned, you should be able to go through all the locks. I know you can go through the locks on the Mississippi, I went through the locks in Minneapolis via canoe just a few weeks ago.

comment Why is it unsafe to handle metallic equipment with bare hand at higher altitude?
It needs to be much colder than "a few degrees" below freezing to get stuck.

comment Can you boil an egg in dirty water?
@LightnessRacesinOrbit: Nature doesn't have a job. It just is what it is. The natural world is rough, disease filled, and violent. For most critters, life is a brutal experience barely clinging to survival. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Appeal_to_nature . And we don't do things through magic, they are done with science and technology.
