I'm a physicist working on air pollution and global warming.
Of course, I spend most of my time programming.

How do I mount a hangboard in an apartment? I already have a doorjam-mounted pull-up bar. So my first move will be to buy the rock rings and mount them as you've shown. After that I will work on the other options. Thanks for the response! |

How much heat can a candle lantern provide while winter camping? In short: it may provide a little heat, but you do not want to depend on it for survival. |

Should I be more careful about postholing during winter hikes? So you think the major concern isn't injury but a heart-wrenchingly slow pace? That's an interesting point. Thank ye. |

If lost in the wilderness, what is the first thing I should do? I feel this is such an important question, with such a wide range of answers, it should perhaps be a wiki. |

What can I do to help relieve joint pain in fingers after climbing? I really like HorusKol's answer. But after a long climb you will probably always notice that your fingers and forearms ache. This is normal. The trick is to be aware enough to know when you're damaging your body. Good luck! |

Trail maintenance: what is considered inappropriate when maintaining a trail? This was a wonderful answer. I also want to add that I have had a lot of success just asking a park ranger (say, at Yosemite) if they wanted me to bring some light tools to help clear the trail as I went along. |
