comment How do I mount a hangboard in an apartment?
I already have a doorjam-mounted pull-up bar. So my first move will be to buy the rock rings and mount them as you've shown. After that I will work on the other options. Thanks for the response!

comment How much heat can a candle lantern provide while winter camping?
In short: it may provide a little heat, but you do not want to depend on it for survival.

comment Should I be more careful about postholing during winter hikes?
So you think the major concern isn't injury but a heart-wrenchingly slow pace? That's an interesting point. Thank ye.

I feel this is such an important question, with such a wide range of answers, it should perhaps be a wiki.

comment What can I do to help relieve joint pain in fingers after climbing?
I really like HorusKol's answer. But after a long climb you will probably always notice that your fingers and forearms ache. This is normal. The trick is to be aware enough to know when you're damaging your body. Good luck!

comment Trail maintenance: what is considered inappropriate when maintaining a trail?
This was a wonderful answer. I also want to add that I have had a lot of success just asking a park ranger (say, at Yosemite) if they wanted me to bring some light tools to help clear the trail as I went along.

comment What hand and finger exercises help with climbing?
I've been climbing for a few years now and there is nothing as helpful as those finger boards. I hate them, but they are really the best way to train.

comment What can I do to prevent altitude sickness?
Altitude Sickness can be combated in two major ways: (1) acclimatize: take a day or two to get up to your maximum height, and (2) cardio exercise: people who run or bike a lot don't suffer as badly at high altitudes. Good luck!

comment What is the true risk of suffocation from different combustion sources in a tent? (CO2, CO)
I can not say about tents, but suffocation is a major concern when building an ice cave for winter camping. (The typical solution is to build an air vent with an ice axe.)
