I hope this is the right site for my question. If not, please forgive me.

In the early 2000s I was gifted a very warm and thick Schott synthetic jacket (not leather) that served me very well during my travels. It has 4 outer front pockets, one sleeve pocket, and 3 internal pockets, which made it incredibly practical; they are all zip pockets. It is also equipped with a removable down gilet.

Being this garment old and battered, I have been trying to find a replacement for it for years, unsuccessfully. The brand doesn't make this garment anymore, and apparently jackets with many pockets have become out of fashion. To me, inner pockets with zip are a must while traveling, for security against pickpockets.

Do you have a suggestion for a warm winter jacket featuring a decent number of inner and outer pockets, good for traveling?

Sorry, but the broader issue is simply that shopping advice is a poor fit for SE sites in general. SE answers are supposed to be of some lasting value, whereas shopping advice is ephemeral. – Ben Crowell Apr 5 at 13:57

I’m voting to close this question because this is shopping advice, asking for opinions with a very broad description. That said, Schott is still making Jackets with many pockets. I don't k ow why these don't fit your expectations, but without further info, I would look into those. My next stop would be google with "warm parka many pockets". Good luck! – Peter1807 Apr 6 at 5:31
  • @Peter1807 Best I could find was jackets with 2 or 4 outer pockets (buttoned) and a single Velcro inner pocket. This, or the jacket was too thin to be used even in moderately cold climate. I live in central Europe, if this may help. – Ouroboros Apr 8 at 15:59
