Feb 8, 2016 at 15:44 comment added OddDeer @Peteris That's just not true. Nearly every piece of forest is under public control. You lease your woods in Germany normally.
Feb 8, 2016 at 15:37 comment added Peteris What 'not a privately owned land'? In central Europe I'd expect all land where you can park such a device to be privately owned and managed, unless it's a national park with even stricter regulations. You can't make this car-tent on public roads, and as soon as you're off of public roads, private land begins with it's own restrictions.

Feb 8, 2016 at 14:18 comment added OddDeer @Aravona Yeah, it's a "new" Lada Taiga 4x4. Were you just kidding or does it really matter somehow?

Feb 8, 2016 at 14:02 comment added Aravona @OddDeer driving your vehicle up a mountain may get you in trouble in some places anyway, surely this is less in line with leave no trace than a tent. Sleeping in your car is not illegal in the UK but a bye-law can override this so in the UK at least you'd need to check each local area you go to. In the UK as well, the farmers that use the mountains may not be too pleased with you churning up their paddocks :) (also I assume that's the new Lada, not the really old ones!)

Feb 8, 2016 at 13:58 comment added OddDeer @Liam I would rather like to talk about the "naked car" thing. Is it allowed to just sleep in your seats? I'll clarify this in my question.
Feb 8, 2016 at 13:45 comment added user2766 This is effectively a campervan and as such subject to all rules that campervan's are. Typically more restrictive than camping
