Personally, I like to be able to scramble or bushwhack and prefer the much smaller volume of an inflatable pad which carried inside my pack so it doesn't snag. | |

So, except for emergencies or planned minimalist outings, I strap one or two pads on my pack and have a great mattress that way. Also, good point about leave no trace. | |
