apart from getting a few good logs going before bed, I have used a bit of a cheat when taking the scouts camping...I cover the embers (a good bed) with foil you could try green leaves I guess if in abundance to act as a reflector, must try that myself. Like whatisname said earlier tv cheat having the fire with flame in the morning I've only ever had embers, but you can get a fire going very quickly with embers..Bear Grylls tsk I ask ya
